Bed and Breakfast
Our B&B offers comfortable double, twin and family ensuite rooms, with organic linen, towels and eco-friendly toiletries. Enjoy a continental vegetarian breakfast each morning, with fresh fruit, cereals, croissants, yoghurt and toast made to order. Each nature-inspired room has Wi-Fi but no TV, helping you switch off and relax. Set within 55 acres of woodland and directly on the South Downs Way, there are plenty of walks and outdoor adventures right on your doorstep, with local pubs nearby. Whether you’re walking the trail, enjoying a family break or simply escaping to the countryside, our B&B is the perfect base.
Our twin and king rooms (both sleep up to two people) cost £127 per night. Our single room costs £80 per night and the family double and twin room (sleeps up four people) costs £162 per night. Check in is from 4pm and check out is by 10am. Dogs are not allowed to stay in our bed and breakfast unless they are a registered assistance dog. Breakfast is served from 7.30am – 9am and includes cereals with cows milk or oat milk, fruits and yoghurts, toast and preserves, tea, coffee, herbal teas, orange juice, apple juice, pain au chocolat, butter, vegan croissant. Dietary requirements can be catered for, such as gluten free, dairy free and vegan.
Eco Hostel
Our self-catering hostel accommodation offers a simple, comfortable alternative to our B&B. Guests have access to shared showers and toilets, as well as an accessible bathroom. The fully equipped, professional-style kitchen includes large fridges and double cookers, while the light and airy dining room and cosy lounge provide space to relax and socialise. Bed linen, duvet covers and towels are provided, making it an easy and convenient option for families, groups and independent travellers.
The eco hostel provides beds for up to 39 people, so it is perfect for group hires. Twin rooms (two single beds) cost £70 per night, triple rooms (bunk bed and single bed for up to three people) cost £100 per night and our family room (bunk beds for up top five people) costs £110 per night. Dogs are not allowed to stay in our eco hostel unless they are a registered assistance dog.
Shepherds Hut
For a cosy countryside escape, Honeysuckle Hideaway is our beautifully crafted Shepherd’s Hut, designed for two and nestled peacefully within our 55-acre woodland site. This unique, nature-inspired retreat has everything you need for a relaxing stay, including a comfortable double bed, ensuite shower and toilet, fully equipped kitchenette, cosy seating area and wood-burning stove. Organic linen, towels and eco-friendly toiletries are provided, while the outdoor fire bowl is perfect for enjoying the peaceful surroundings and starry skies.
With the South Downs Way and numerous walking routes right on your doorstep, Honeysuckle Hideaway is an ideal choice for a romantic getaway, outdoor adventure or simply a chance to switch off and reconnect with nature. Our shepherds hut sleeps up to two people at a cost of £120 per night. There is a two-night minimum stay at weekends. Check in is from 4pm and check out is by 10am. Dogs are not allowed to stay in our shepherds hut.
Yurts
For a truly unique countryside getaway, our rustic yurts offer a cosy, off-grid escape surrounded by the beautiful woodland and grounds of the Sustainability Centre. Choose from our Mini Yurt for two or Olive Yurt sleeping up to four, both with comfortable beds, rugs, furniture and wood-burning stoves to keep you warm and cosy. With no electricity or lighting, staying in a yurt is a chance to slow down, switch off and reconnect with nature. Guests have access to our off-grid campsite facilities, including solar showers, washing-up facilities, running water and compost toilets.
With the South Downs Way and beautiful countryside walks right on your doorstep, our yurts are perfect for a memorable, closer-to-nature break. Our Olive Yurt sleeps up to four people, while our Mini Yurt sleeps up to two. Yurts are available from April to October, with a minimum two-night stay at weekends. The Olive Yurt is £140 per night and the Mini Yurt is £90 per night. Dogs are welcome for £2 per dog. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out is by 11am.
Camping
Our peaceful, off-grid campsite is set in an open space surrounded by our beautiful woodland, making it a wonderful base for walkers, cyclists, families and groups. With a small number of pitches, it offers a relaxed, closer-to-nature camping experience directly on the South Downs Way. The campsite is car-free and electricity-free, with compost toilets, showers, an undercover washing-up area and fire bowls (£12 to hire) on every pitch. There’s also a wood-fired pizza oven for hire (at a cost of £10) to enjoy during your stay.
With woodland walks right on your doorstep and plenty to explore nearby, it’s the perfect place to slow down, enjoy the outdoors and reconnect with nature. Our camping prices are £15 per adult per night and £7.50 per child under 18 years per night. Infants under 3 years old camp for free and we charge £2 per dog in tents. Maximum of 4 people per pitch. Check in times are from 2pm and check out is before 11am. Please note that unfortunately we do not have a licence for camper vans or caravans anywhere on our site, including the car parking areas.
Group bookings
Planning a family gathering, school trip, retreat, team-building break or group holiday? South Downs Eco Lodge & Camping offers flexible accommodation in the heart of the South Downs National Park. Choose from exclusive-use B&B, hostel or campsite accommodation, depending on the size and style of your group. Our hostel sleeps up to 39, the B&B up to 25, and our campsite up to 46 people.
Groups can also enjoy activities such as bushcraft, team building and sustainability sessions, or explore the South Downs Way and surrounding countryside. With plenty of space to relax, explore and spend time together, we’re an ideal base for group adventures, learning and countryside escapes.
