Our site and grounds are open daily, giving you the opportunity to enjoy the woodland, trails and beautiful surroundings throughout the year.

Getting here

We’re located just a short drive from Petersfield, Winchester, Portsmouth and the A3. Free on-site parking is available for visitors.

We recommend using the postcode GU32 1HR in your sat nav. As you approach the site, you’ll see our entrance from Droxford Road.

The nearest railway station is Petersfield, with regular direct services from London Waterloo and Portsmouth. From the station, the Centre is approximately a 15-minute taxi journey. Taxis are often available outside Petersfield station. You can also call a local Taxi service or use the Uber app.

You can reach The Sustainability Centre by bus from Petersfield, followed by a scenic walk through the South Downs.

Bus 37 – Petersfield to Havant

Take the Stagecoach 37 service from Petersfield towards Havant and get off at Clanfield – Rising Sun.

From the bus stop, local roads and public footpaths lead to The Sustainability Centre. The walk is approximately 2 miles (around 40–50 minutes).

Bus 52 or 67 – Petersfield to East Meon

Take the 52 or 67 service from Petersfield to East Meon.

From East Meon, local roads and public footpaths connect to The Sustainability Centre. The walk is approximately 2 miles (around 40–50 minutes).

We’re situated on the South Downs Way, making us an ideal stop for walkers, cyclists and anyone exploring the National Park. If you’re travelling under your own steam, you’ll find plenty of scenic routes leading directly to our site. ​We have sheltered secure cycle storage where your bike can be secured if you wish to stay with us during your journey.

Before you visit

Our 55-acre site is a place to explore and enjoy nature. Please bear in mind that some paths can be uneven. We recommend wearing suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear, especially during wet weather when paths can become muddy or slippery.

Plan your visit

hether you’re coming for a few hours or a longer stay, there’s plenty to discover. Enjoy homemade food in the Beech Café, browse our shop, wander the woodland trails, or simply relax and take in the beautiful surroundings. We also offer accommodation, educational visits, events and courses throughout the year.

Electric vehicle charging

We do not currently have electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities available on site.

The nearest public charging points can be found at West Meon Hut on the A32 and Sainsbury’s, Waterlooville. If you’re travelling by electric vehicle, we recommend planning your journey and charging stops in advance.
